Is AGENTIC the new buzzword

And what do AI agents really mean for marketing?

This week, I’ve been diving into a major shift in the workplace: AI agents and their growing role in how we work. Maybe 2025 really will be the year of the AI agent. I think it might just be….

You see:

It’s not just marketing automation anymore — these AI-driven agents learn, adapt, and make decisions in ways that were once reserved for humans. And the conversation around them is heating up.

📢 I will be speaking About AI Agents Here

In just a few days, 7 to be precise, as it is next Tuesday — I’ll be speaking at “How Agentic AI Is Reshaping Our Jobs” — a live LinkedIn event where we’ll break down what AI agents mean for jobs, careers, and the workplace.

📅 Date: Next week (see event details here)

🎤 What we’ll cover:

  • When does AI shift from augmenting work to automating it?
  • Are layoffs in anticipation of AI becoming the norm?
  • Will AI turn knowledge workers into gig workers?
  • How can humans create value in a job market increasingly shaped by AI?

It’s a big discussion, and I’d love to hear your thoughts — especially as businesses move from experimenting with AI to actually embedding AI-driven agents into workflows.

🚀 The PwC Report: AI Agents in Action

PwC’s latest report on Agentic AI sheds light on how AI agents are reshaping industries right now:

🔹 Finance: AI handling invoice processing and cash flow management.

🔹 Supply Chain: AI predicting demand and onboarding suppliers.

🔹 Sales & Marketing: AI generating leads and optimizing SEO.

🔹 IT & HR: AI running service desks and automating recruitment.

These AI agents aren’t just automating tasks — they’re orchestrating entire workflows. And as businesses adopt them, the question shifts from “Can AI do this?” to “What’s left for humans?”

🤖 Do We Want AI Agents Doing Work For Us?

This brings me to my new poll on LinkedIn:

Do you see AI agents as a tool to enhance your work — do you use them at all? Or do you not even know what they are or why they might exist…

Whether you know about AI agents or not — it’s clear that AI is becoming a core part of the workforce. But the big question remains: How do we ensure AI works for us — not the other way around?

This is my crux for my book — on AI Leadership and the future of work.

Would love to hear your thoughts
